1. Invalid or Expired Token (401)
Symptoms:

“Unauthorized” message

No data returned from search
Fix:

Go to the ProffConnect Setup Page

Re-enter your Proff API token

Save & retry your search
2. Insufficient Permissions (403)
This typically means the token does not have access to the requested endpoint.
Fix:

Contact Proff support to check your token’s permissions.
3. Entity Not Found (404)
The organisation number or search query does not exist in the Proff database.
Fix:

Confirm the organisation number

Try additional search parameters
4. Rate Limit Reached (429)
Proff imposes rate limits on API usage.
Symptoms:

Temporary inability to fetch data
